Digital Mobilization as a Model to Engage the Public
If you are passionate about experiencing new approaches in fundraising for civic causes and believe in the strength of giving campaigns to bring new supporters – you definitely should join the Masterclass on Building Big Digital Movements – Adopting A Digital Mobilization Model To Engage The Public At Scale & Drive Action. The training course will be held on 19 June 2026, in Shtrak, Sofia. The half a day program will be led by Paul de Gregorio - the founder of Rally (UK) and a digital mobilisation strategist who helps organisations inspire and attract public support to win change.
Paul de Gregorio comes to Bulgaria as a part of the speakers team of the International Conference “Fundraising in Times of Courage: Stretching the Boundaries” – the largest event in Bulgaria dedicated to the financial sustainability of civil society organizations which will take place on 18 June (Thursday) at Grand Hotel Millennium, Sofia.
Rally is a small but mighty consultancy that works with organisations fighting for a fairer, healthier, safer, greener, more equal world. Paul has worked with charities, campaign groups and membership organisations around the world to deliver mobilisation, fundraising and campaigning activity that engages the public at scale and inspires them to take action. He’s obsessed with showing people they have power and helping them use it for good.
What to expect
Organizations from all over the world have used digital techniques as the catalyst to build or harness the energy of existing movements in order to bring about the change they want to see.
Greenpeace, the ACLU and countless political campaigns from all over the world have applied movement building techniques to their successes and we can learn a lot from them.
Paul will explain the theory behind mobilization and movement building and how it applies to charities. He will give examples of how organizations have activated this thinking to drive successful public engagement, campaigning and fundraising activities.
Paul will cover the case study of Refuge, a UK based domestic abuse charity and Praxis, a UK based migrant rights charity. He will explain how they both adopted a digital mobilization model which saw them raise more money and recruit thousands of additional supporters, campaigners and donors.
The session will be a mix of presentation, practical workshop exercises and discussion, and after attending this session you will be able to:
- Identify the areas of strength and weakness in your organization’s ability to test the Digital Mobilization model.
- Start planning your own Digital Mobilization test.
- Be clearer on the messages your organization can use to inspire the public to take action.
It’s a session designed for all NGO staff who communicate with the public to inspire them to take action of any kind. So would be useful for fundraising campaigns, advocacy initiatives and communications staff at all levels.
This interactive session will leave you with the inspiration, knowledge and examples to enable you to build a big digital movement at your organization.
